Arrive Friday afternoon and depart before or after lunch on Sunday.
Learn the techniques of traditional mosaic making using tiles, glass, vintage china, old jewellery and found items with Jennie Rainsford and Karen Holland from Lechlade Craft Barn. Create a unique design, learn how to use mosaic tools, how to work with a variety of materials and helpful tips and tricks.
Relax on Friday afternoon and enjoy the delights of Abbey Home Farm, taking in the beautiful Cotswold landscape. Enjoy an organic seasonal two course supper and get to know your fellow workshoppers.
On Saturday you will create and develop your mosaic, learning techniques and tips, working with a variety of materials. Sunday morning is reserved for grouting and finishing your piece, ready to take home.
Evenings are free for you to enjoy relaxing at your accommodation (on or off the farm) or enjoying the local sites and town of Cirencester.
Abbey Home Farm is an award winning 1600 acre mixed organic farm on the edge of Cirencester. Guests who opt to stay onsite for this course stay in The Orchard, a lovely new building made from wood from the farm, nestled into the side of the woods overlooking the vegetable garden and beyond. All rooms open up onto a wide south-facing veranda and are ensuite with underfloor heating. Organic cotton bed linen is provided which is hand block printed in the farm’s own tiny workshop in Rajasthan. There is a large communal space for eating, chatting and relaxing and the opportunity to make yourselves an outdoor fire for finer nights.
Much of the food served over the weekend is grown on the farm itself, is all cooked ON THE on the farm by our great café team and is vegetarian. Start with a two course supper on the Friday evening, a good breakfast to get you going on Saturday morning followed by a light lunch and another veggie feast in the evening. Sunday will start with breakfast and then there is the option to stay for our traditional Sunday Roast with a meat option from the farm. (not included in course cost).
Tea, coffee, herbal tea, cordials and fruit will be available throughout the weekend. Alcohol will be available to buy in the evenings.
