Mon 1st Jun: Sterling Silver Chain Bracelet Workshop
Monday 1st June 2020: 10am to 4pm at Lechlade Craft Barn
Join Mark Vardy for this one day workshop which offers an insight into silver jewellery making. Participants will cover the processes involved in making a bespoke sterling silver chain bracelet using wire.
We will learn how to make jump rings using a piercing saw, how to solder using a blow torch, how to shape and texture and how to clean & polish. We will also discuss hallmarking requirements.
• 1.2 Metres of 1.2mm sterling silver wire is included in the workshop fee
• A clasp is included in the workshop fee.
• Finished bracelets can be sent for hallmarking at the end of the workshop and this would be billed separately (optional).
All tools, solder, etc are provided. No previous experience necessary. Please wear closed toe shoes and old clothes. Long hair must be tied back.
Mark Vardy founded Silvar Design in 2004. Originally an electronics engineer, Mark is now a silversmith, running workshops in silver jewellery-making and enamelling on copper from his studio in Staffordshire, and appearing in his own TV programmes on Create & Craft. Mark is a qualified adult education teacher.
